Legal
Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information. Last updated 13 July 2026.
Who we are
ColdSoup builds and looks after websites for small businesses in the UK. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are. If you have any questions, email us at sales@coldsoup.com.
The information we collect
When you fill in our enquiry form, we collect:
- your name
- your business name
- the town or area you work in
- your phone number
- your email address
- your current website or social page, if you give it to us
When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics providers also process limited technical information such as your approximate location, browser type and the pages you view. We do not use this to identify you.
How we use your information
We use the details you give us to:
- reply to your enquiry
- build and show you a free demo of your website
- set up and look after your website if you become a client
We will not use your details for anything else, and we will never sell them.
Our legal basis
When you contact us or ask for a demo, we rely on your consent and on our legitimate interest in responding to you and running our business. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing sales@coldsoup.com.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the suppliers that help us run the service:
- Formspree, which delivers our enquiry form submissions to us
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and provides privacy-friendly analytics
These providers act on our instructions. Some of them, including Formspree, are based outside the UK, so your information may be processed abroad under appropriate safeguards. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics measures visits without cookies and without building a profile of you, so there is nothing you need to accept.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep what we need for as long as we provide your service and as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct or delete it
- object to or restrict how we use it
- ask us to move it to another provider
To use any of these, email sales@coldsoup.com. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
